Warmer weather is here at last! And if you still need your daily cup of coffee but are looking for a more refreshing drink, this easy homemade iced cappuccino recipe is for you!
What is iced cappuccino?
Iced cappuccino is made by combining espresso coffee, milk, sugar and ice in varying proportions.
However, my unique recipe is made without ice cubes! My pet peeve about adding ice cubes to an iced capp is that as they melt, my drink is watered down and the flavor of the coffee is diluted.
So after lots of experimenting with this recipe, I came up with the winning formula! Freeze freshly brewed espresso coffee in an ice cube tray and then blend the cubes with milk and sugar.
Top your drink with a light dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon and voilà, you have the perfect frothy iced cappuccino ready in seconds!
Which kitchen appliances are best to make iced cappuccino?
Each of the following kitchen appliances can be used to prepare your iced cappuccino:
- blender
- single serve blender such as a "Magic Bullet"
- immersion blender: this was my least favorite method as the iced capp turned out less frothy

- Brewed espresso: frozen in an ice cube tray
- Milk: non dairy options such as almond milk also work well
- Sugar: as much as desired
- Cinnamon or cocoa powder (optional): for serving

Step by Step Instructions
- Make sure your coffee ice cubes are completely frozen before proceeding with your iced cappuccino.
- Place 4 coffee cubes in a blender.
- Add milk and sugar.
- Process until foamy and slushy.
- Pour into a glass or cup and dust lightly with cinnamon or cocoa powder, if you wish.
- Serve immediately.
Recipe Notes
-For a mocha flavored iced capp, stir cocoa powder (I suggest 1 tablespoon per individual) along with the milk in the blender. You may also substitute chocolate milk for plain milk.
-I have tried this recipe with almond milk instead of cow's milk and it works well.
-For an extra decadent treat, top your drink with whipped cream.
-The quantities of coffee cubes, milk and sugar are suggestions. Personalize the recipe according to your taste. Use more coffee for a stronger coffee flavor, or more milk or sugar as desired.

Iced cappuccino is best served immediately therefore only make as much as needed. You can whip up an iced cappuccino in a flash as long as you have frozen coffee cubes handy in your freezer at all times!
