Cookies
Italians are not know for rich, decadent cookies. They prefer simple, dry cookies that are perfect for dunking in milk or serving with espresso coffee. Some favorites include biscotti, from the traditional almond to wonderful variations such as pistachio and cranberry. Most Italian households have a version of a lemon glazed cookie, and my mom's recipe has a wonderful secret ingredient in it unlike others! And of course, we could not forget classic amaretti cookies, made with almond flour. I've also shared a delicious variation on this cookie, pistachio amaretti!
